Sympathy Words for an Illness

Nothing is more difficult than discovering that you are suffering from an illness that has the potential to become more severe and might even be fatal. Especially if there are no apparent symptoms, and this news comes as a shock to you, it might be all the more devastating to hear. If you know someone who has an illness, it will definitely be helpful to them to give them some words of sympathy. Someone who is dying is going through tough times not only physically, but also emotionally. He or she needs all the love and support he or she can get, especially if these are indeed that person's last few days on earth. Remember to be brief; communicating your concern is sufficient. Below is a sample letter for someone suffering from an illness:

Dear Nickolai,

I am deeply saddened to hear that you are not in good health at this time. When I saw you last month during the Ski Trip at Big Bear, you appeared to be well. This news most definitely comes as a shock to the rest of our church choir group and myself.

Words cannot express how glad I am that you were able to get yourself checked by the doctor sooner than later, so that there is still time to get back up from this illness.

I understand that with your job as an editor for the Cochran newspaper, you are mostly sitting throughout the day. Despite this, I suggest you take the time to exercise regularly and eat well. These are crucial in assuring that you fight this illness. Do not forget to drink plenty of water. Also, doing some daily breathing exercises, slowly inhaling and exhaling, will help reduce any additional stress you may have. This will put you on the road to good health.

I hope you do all you can do for yourself to get better when you are by yourself. Keep in mind that your family and friends are here for you to provide you with anything that you need. You will be in our thoughts and prayers. Please call me to let me know how you are doing when you are ready to talk.

Love,

Thalia
