Sympathy Words for a Divorce

People who go through divorces go through very testing and struggling times. Having friends and family who are there to comfort, support, or simply be of company to the person affected helps to alleviate the pain, even just a little. You may buy a card for this purpose or you can choose to write one yourself. Writing a letter might be better if you are writing to a close friend, because they are more personal. This shows the person that you truly do care, as you took the time and effort to do so. Keep in mind that these tough times are emotionally draining, so be sure to keep it short and sweet. Dear Julia,

I am very sorry to hear that you and Matthew have decided to go your separate ways. I understand that you are going through a difficult time. It has been 3 years since my divorce with Jack and I know how hard it is to cope.

Keep in mind that you are not alone. I am willing to take care of the children on any days in which you feel you need some time to yourself. This includes everything from preparing meals for them and taking them to school. Do not forget that I am only one call away and that I will always be available to lend an ear to listen or a shoulder to cry on. If you feel that you need a weekend getaway, I am also open to any spontaneous trips. Just let me know when you are ready.

Take this time to think and focus on all the good things in life. I believe that you have the courage and strength to get through this emotional encounter. The pain will disappear in due time and you will be happy again. I am here for you. If you need anything else, do not hesitate to reach out to me. You're in my thoughts and prayers.

Love always,

Tammy
