Losing one's best friend is never easy. Since this may be the person who knows him the best and this is the person who he knows best as well, he may feel like there is no one left who understands him. It might seem as if no words can help to relieve the sadness from the loss of his best friend, but writing letter may help to shed light during this tragic time. The best friend, of course, is irreplaceable, but you can help to be a reminder of how many friends he still does have. You can do this by showing your concern, love, and support in this time of need as his or her best friend would in other times of need. Remember not to make the letter too lengthy because you do not want to overwhelm them as they are going through a tough time. Dear Tanya,

I am so sorry to have heard the news about your best friend, Regina, having passed away. The rest of the employees at Scoops Ice Cream and I are praying for you during this tough time.

I still remember the time when you told me of the story when you and Regina went to the fair. You mentioned that you had gone to ride the Ferris wheel by yourself because she was afraid of heights. When you got stuck up there due to a ride malfunction, she became brave against her fear of heights, and climbed the tower located right next to it just so you wouldn't be by yourself.

Friends are there to listen when you have a problem, to be there for you when you need company, and to keep the secrets that are closest to your heart. Although Regina will be missed, her kind qualities and heart-warming characteristics can live through you for the rest of your life. Please take all the time you need off work to recover. We will find people to cover the shifts you already have scheduled for the week. Know that the rest of the team and me are here if you need anything.
