Sympathy for Losing Your Home

Losing one's home is never an easy thing to go through. Losing one's home can be caused by several events including natural disasters, foreclosures, evictions, and the inability to pay for one's home among several others. During this time in which a person has nowhere to go home to after long days of work, he or she is in need of the utmost support. The person is likely to look back on the all the material things in the house that he or she worked hard for, which are now all gone. You must attempt to help them deviate from this. If you know someone who has lost their home recently, you must help to take their minds off everything they lost, and rather look to the friends and family surrounding them, that will help them overcome this. Below is a sample letter for someone who is experiencing the loss of her home:

Dear Thalia,

I am so sorry about the loss of your home due to the terrible fire that hit Griffith Park. I have been praying for you and your family since then, as well as all the other affected members of your community.

I understand that you had to evacuate your home and go to your eldest daughter's house that night, since she lives nearby, and that your neighbors went to refuge shelters set up at a local high school's auditorium. Luckily everyone was able to find a place to stay at and no one was hurt.

I know that you are suffering from some great material losses at this time. As one of your closest friends, I do not want you to hesitate in coming to me for financial and emotional support. I will help get you through this.

While disasters like this may not always be preventable, allowing it to affect us is. Please stay strong and be thankful for all the belongings you were able to save. I know I am most thankful for the fact that you and your family came out of there safely.

Please keep me updated on your residential locations because I am very concerned about you. Call me when you are ready to talk.

Love,

Brent
