Dearest Cocoa Coffee Team on Central & Broadway,
I want to take the opportunity to bid farewell to all of you and let you know that I have decided to leave Cocoa Coffee as I have been accepted to one of the schools of my dreams, New York University. It was a very difficult decision to make but the fact that this school has my major of Hospitality, Tourism, & Management was what pushed me to make this choice. This coming Friday, July 15th, will be my final day of work, and I will be moving to New York the following day.
I must express what an amazing journey it has been. I still remember the first day we opened this store, with thirteen strangers standing side by side with no knowledge of how to run the store because we were all new employees. Here we are two years later, not so much a team of strangers anymore, but a team of my closest friends. Many of you have been with me through my most difficult times, and for that I am truly grateful. I cannot forget to mention how much this store has grown businesswise, as we went from earning a mere $200/ day in the first couple weeks of being open, to now topping the charts each month in the competition of which store meets their sales goals first. We could not have done this without each other.
(include paragraph below if you can't be with them because of distance or other circumstances)
I would especially like to thank my supervisors Joel and Amanda for guiding me through this job experience. Both of you have taught me valuable skills such as effective communication, sales strategies, and how to ensure customer satisfaction, which will all be of great use to me in my education and career. I will definitely miss the team's enthusiasm, motivation, and strong work ethic, which are all qualities I will take with me as well.
I hope to continue the friendships I have made despite my distance, and request that you will make an effort to keep in touch with me as well. I wish everyone happiness as well as wish the company success in all its future endeavors.
Please feel free to contact me by phone at (555) 555-5555 or by email at mgordon@nyu.edu. I'll be sure to respond.
With best wishes,
Marie Gordon
